A copy of your child’s timetable will be sent home at the beginning of the school year and at other times if there is a change in the timetable. This will give details of the lessons each day and the staff that work with your son or daughter.

Term Dates

A copy of the term dates is availble on the website, in addition to the standard term dates set by the City of York Council, the school will be closed for 5 staff training days during the year. Details of these are included in the term dates information.

Parents Newsletters

Parents Newsletters are published regularly throughout the term – these include information about school events and activities, special events and updates on important information for parents and carers. Newsletters are available to be download from the school’s website.

In addition, students and staff publish a colour magazine  newsletter one each term.

Jewellery and Valuables

Pupils are discouraged from wearing jewellery at school as in many of the practical subjects it is not safe. If pupils, boys or girls, have pierced ears, we would prefer them not to wear earrings and ask that they wear stud type earrings. Any items of jewellery or valuables brought to school are the responsibility of the pupil, unless given to their teacher for safe keeping.

Please do not allow your son or daughter to bring their mobile phone, iPod, MP3 player or any other valuable item into school – staff can not take responsibility for these valuables and neither the school nor the local authority are insured for the loss or damage to these valuables.

Although at present there is no school policy regarding homework, staff are happy to set homework if after discussion with parents we believe that this would be appropriate for your son or daughter.
