School Uniform

School Uniform

At Applefields School pupils in Key Stages 3 & 4 (Years 7 -11) wear an informal school uniform comprising a navy coloured sweatshirt or polo shirt in summer with the Applefields School emblem. In addition, pupils are expected to wear a PE kit (white T shirt with school emblem, black shorts, white socks and trainers) for PE lessons and sports activities.

Post 16 students have the choice of not wearing the school uniform, though Post 16 students are expected to wear clothing that is comfortable and appropriate.

School uniform sweatshirts and polo shirts are available to order from the school office. In addition, if your son or daughter is involved in swimming lessons or hydrotherapy sessions please provide them with a clearly named towel and swimming costume when advised.

It is important that all items of your child's clothing and PE kit are clearly named as the school cannot accept responsibility for missing items which are not labelled.

Parents may be able to claim an allowance for school uniform.  Further details can be obtained from the either the City of York local authority, or from the local area education office for pupils resident outside of the City of York.
