Level 2 Teaching Assistant 1:1 Support

 

Temporary contract linked to a SEND pupil (Term Time Only) 

 

A standard full time working week is 31 hours 50 minutes per week

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8:45am to 3:30pm and Wednesday 8:45am to 4:30pm (training and staffing meeting)

 

Grade 4 Level 1-4 (£18,360 to £19,477 per annum) reduced pro-rata £13,364 to £14,177

 

Applefields School are seeking to recruit a full time Level 2 Teaching Assistant to provide one to one support for a student with complex needs.

 

The successful candidate will also work as a member of the staffing team supporting our students’ access to the curriculum and the development of their literacy, numeracy and personal and social independence skills.

 

The successful applicant will:

 

  • Be a child centred professional who has successful experience of working with children with a wide range of special educational need.
  • Be committed to helping our student achieve the very best and become as independent as possible
  • Be able to provide effective support for the development of the student’s communication
  • Be able to develop strong relationships to support the development of the student’s personal and social independence skills
  • Support the student with their personal care and welfare needs
  • Be confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviours
  • Be a strong advocate of inclusion
  • Be confident to accept responsibility and work independently, able to demonstrate initiative and have flexible attitude to the challenging demands of working with children and young people with additional and complex needs

Applefields School are seeking to recruit a Support Worker.

 

Suport Worker posts are important members of the staff team, their duties include:

 

  • Supporting pupils with toileting and hygiene programmes
  • Preparing the dining hall for lunch
  • Supervising and assisting pupils during the lunch period
  • Assisting pupils with dressing and undressing e.g. before and after PE or Hydrotherapy sessions
  • Developing and supervising play and social opportunities for pupils during break time and the after lunch period
  • Supporting teaching and learning
